Getting A Dental Bridge For A Missing Tooth

Hi, my name is Robin Pearson and when I had to have a tooth pulled, I was just devastated. I didn't want to have a gap in my mouth so I asked my dentist what he could do. My dentist said there were a couple of options regarding replacing a tooth that's missing. The option that interested me was a dental bridge. I went home and read all I could about dental bridges so I would completely understand how they work to fill in the missing space in my mouth. Since I am very pleased with my dental bridge, I wanted to share this information with other people who are also considering this option for a missing tooth.

What Cosmetic Dentistry Can Do For Your Smile

It may not be fair, but the people who have less-than-beautiful looking smiles are at a disadvantage to those who have gorgeous smiles. It's amazing what can happen to your life when you do something as simple as change the way that your smile looks for the better. If you are unhappy with the look of your smile, then you will be interested in learning how different types of cosmetic dentistry can help you change your life for the positive:

A whitening can brighten what was a dingy looking smile

If years of drinking coffee, smoking and eating the wrong foods has left you with a dark and stained smile then you may be one of the lucky ones. There is a chance that having your smile whitened right at your dentist's office can change things for you. It is important for you to understand that those stains didn't get there overnight, so they aren't going to go away that way either. You can almost count on being told that you will need to return for subsequent sessions before you will get to enjoy the full benefits of whitening. However, a professional treatment with professional grade tools and solutions just may give you back your pre-damaged smile. The type of treatment and number of sessions you need will be determined after you have an exam.

Bonding or veneers can help give you a straighter and more even smile

If you have some spaces in some of your teeth and even some that are crooked, then it may be possible that the dentist can use bonding material in the office to form your teeth so they align the way they should. Or, they may be able to send off a mold of your mouth to a lab where veneers will be made to be placed over your prepared teeth to correct the problems in your smile. If you have a problem with your entire smile, then bonding or veneers can even be put on in a different, whiter color and shade, which is a great way for you to also get an instantly whiter smile while you are taking care of the other issues.

If you are concerned with the look of your smile, the best thing to do is to get in to see the dentist, so you can learn about the different options that really are available to you.
